What are the characteristics of the foreskin circumcision stapler

Circumcision stapler is a specialized minimally invasive instrument used in urology for circumcision surgery. Its characteristics are mainly reflected in surgical efficiency, trauma control, postoperative recovery, and ease of operation, as follows:
1、 The surgical process is more efficient and reduces operation time
1. Integrated operation, simplified steps
Traditional circumcision requires multiple independent steps such as disinfection, anesthesia, cutting, hemostasis, and suturing, and the entire process takes about 30-60 minutes; The stapler can achieve synchronous completion of      "cutting+hemostasis+anastomosis", without the need for manual suturing. The single operation time can be shortened to 10-15 minutes, greatly reducing the occupancy rate of the operating table and also reducing the discomfort of fixing the patient's position during the operation.
2. Standardized operations to reduce human differences
The diameter and cutting depth of the stapler are preset specifications, which can effectively avoid problems such as uneven cutting and excessive or insufficient foreskin residue caused by differences in doctors' operating experience in traditional surgery, and improve the consistency of surgical results.
2、 Less trauma and less intraoperative bleeding
1. Correct cutting and immediate hemostasis
The blade of the stapler has a circular sharp edge, which causes minimal tissue damage during cutting; At the same time, the accompanying titanium nails (or absorbable nails) can achieve mechanical compression hemostasis of small blood vessels while anastomosing tissues. The intraoperative bleeding volume can usually be controlled within 5ml, much lower than the traditional surgery's 20-50ml, reducing the risk of blood transfusion.
2. Minimally invasive approach with narrow tissue damage range
Compared to the open incision of traditional surgery, the stapler only forms a circular incision in the circumcision area, causing less damage to the surrounding subcutaneous tissue and lymphatic vessels, and reducing the incidence of postoperative lymphedema and tissue adhesion.
3、 Faster postoperative recovery and lower incidence of complications
1. The healing of the staple is more aesthetically pleasing, without the need for suture removal
The titanium nails (or absorbable polymer nails) used in the stapler are arranged neatly, the wound is tightly adhered, and the postoperative scar is uniformly circular and finer; Titanium nails usually fall off on their own 2-4 weeks after surgery, while absorbable nails gradually degrade without the need for secondary suture removal, avoiding pain and secondary wound damage during suture removal.
2. Edema subsides quickly and the recovery period is short
Due to minimal tissue damage and fast hemostasis during surgery, the degree of foreskin edema after surgery is significantly milder than traditional surgery. Most patients can achieve basic swelling reduction within one week after surgery and resume normal life within 2-3 weeks, while traditional surgery usually takes 4-6 weeks for edema to subside and fully recover.
3. Reduced risk of infection
The stapler is a disposable sterile instrument, which avoids the risk of cross infection caused by repeated use of instruments; At the same time, the wound is tightly closed, reducing the opportunity for external bacteria to invade. The postoperative infection rate can be controlled below 1%, which is lower than the 3% to 5% of traditional surgery.
4、 Lower operational threshold, suitable for multiple scenarios
1. Novice doctors are easy to get started with
The operation process of the stapler is relatively fixed and can be performed with simple training, making it suitable for primary medical institutions or young doctors to perform circumcision; Traditional surgery requires doctors to have high skills in suturing and hemostasis, and a longer learning curve.
2. Adapt to different ages and conditions
There are various specifications of staplers (such as 12-16mm diameter for children and 18-24mm diameter for people), which can meet the needs of different groups of people such as children with foreskin too long ; For patients with mild foreskin adhesion, surgery can be performed directly using a stapler after separating the adhesion, without the need for additional treatment.
